Nozzle (another name – injector), being a structural element of the injection system, is designed for metered fuel supply, its atomization in the combustion chamber (intake manifold), and the formation of the air-fuel mixture.
Nozzle is used in the injection systems of both gasoline and diesel engines. Modern engines are equipped with electronically controlled injection nozzles.
Depending on the method of injection, the following types of injectors are distinguished: electromagnetic, electrohydraulic, and piezoelectric.
